The Cuban Prime Minister, Manuel Marrero, wrapped up his visit to the Republic of Congo with a meeting to honor the island nation’s health professionals there. He praised their invaluable contributions, stating, “While the enemies of the Revolution try to discredit your work, you bring health to the world.” This acknowledgment highlights their ongoing medical collaboration that began in 1965, involving over 500 Cuban professionals serving more than 631,000 patients in the Congo.

Marrero also proposed a comprehensive update on cooperation opportunities covering technology, human resources training in Cuba, as well as advancements in tourism, culture, science, and defense. The aim is to reinforce cooperative efforts between the two nations moving forward.

Cuba’s commitment to healthcare collaboration in the Congo reflects decades of partnership established since 1965.
