The second India International Soft Tennis Championship (ISTC) and the inaugural South Asian Soft Tennis Championship are taking place from March 17 to 22, 2025, at the Shaheed Vijay Singh Pathik Sports Complex in Greater Noida. Approximately 150 athletes from 12 countries, including Japan, Iran, and Nepal, are competing, with the notable absence of teams from Pakistan and Bangladesh.
Kaushik expressed confidence in India’s performance, recalling the nation’s victory in the previous ISTC and anticipating success in this edition. He stated, “India is the winner of the last medal in India International Soft Tennis, and this time, we are confident we will win a medal.”
Emphasizing the event’s international appeal, he noted that the championship attracted players from 15 different countries. Officials have facilitated the event successfully, with participating athletes expressing satisfaction with the arrangements. Kaushik highlighted that only the Pakistan and Bangladesh teams were unable to attend.
He praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for advancing sports in India, noting the significance of his engagement with athletes. Kaushik remarked, “Our Prime Minister Modiji has taken sports to another level,” acknowledging the motivational impact of Modi’s personal involvement with players before and after competitions.
