Germany has provided 32 additional trucks to the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organisation, enhancing the humanitarian corridor to Gaza. This effort aims to facilitate aid delivery amid the ongoing crisis, with continued support for medical supplies for field hospitals in the region. The collaboration highlights the importance of international solidarity in humanitarian efforts.
On March 19, 2025, the German government delivered 32 trucks to the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organisation (JHCO) to enhance the humanitarian corridor to Gaza. This initiative aims to facilitate the delivery of essential humanitarian aid to the war-affected region. JHCO Secretary-General Hussein Shibli highlighted the significance of this contribution in addressing the ongoing humanitarian crisis and stressed the importance of international solidarity in such efforts.
Shibli reiterated JHCO’s commitment to collaborate with partners to ensure the efficient delivery of aid. German Ambassador to Jordan, Bertram von Moltke, labeled the Jordanian humanitarian corridor as a “lifeline for Gaza,” emphasizing the urgency of aid delivery to its residents. He expressed hope that Germany’s assistance would streamline the provision of vital humanitarian and relief support.
The collaboration between JHCO, the Jordan Armed Forces–Arab Army, and the United Nations Office for Project Services has transformed the corridor into a crucial humanitarian hub. In conjunction with the truck delivery, the JAF received a seventh batch of medical aid from Germany, comprising essential medicines and medical equipment to support field hospitals in Gaza.
Brigadier General Sahel Hammouri attended the aid delivery and expressed gratitude for the German support. The German ambassador noted that since 2023, around 16 tonnes of medical supplies have been provided to Jordan’s field hospitals, reaffirming Germany’s ongoing commitment to humanitarian aid efforts in the region. Hammouri highlighted the importance of international cooperation in delivering effective medical care during humanitarian crises.
Germany’s recent delivery of 32 trucks significantly bolsters the Jordanian humanitarian corridor to Gaza, emphasizing international support amid crises. This initiative, alongside ongoing medical aid shipments, reflects a collaborative effort to address critical humanitarian needs and improve access to essential supplies for affected populations in Gaza. Continued international cooperation remains vital for effective humanitarian response efforts.
