The Saudi Council of Ministers has condemned the renewed aggression of Israeli forces in the Gaza Strip during a Cabinet session chaired by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in Jeddah. Minister of Media Salman Al-Dossary stated that the Cabinet urged the international community to intervene promptly to halt these acts and alleviate the humanitarian crisis affecting Palestinians.
During the session, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman updated the Cabinet on discussions with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. The Cabinet reiterated Saudi Arabia’s commitment to regional and global security while reviewing ongoing developments within the Arab and international contexts.
The Council noted with approval the recent peace agreements between Azerbaijan and Armenia and the signing of a border demarcation accord between Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, wishing both nations continued prosperity.
On domestic matters, the Cabinet commended the launch of the Saudi Architecture Characters Map, which showcases various architectural styles indicative of the Kingdom’s heritage, aiming to preserve urban heritage and improve quality of life.
The meeting also included discussions on boosting development and improving social welfare systems to achieve national ambitions. The Cabinet reviewed the performance indicators of the national economy and welcomed credit rating upgrades from international agencies.
In a notable security achievement, the Cabinet acknowledged the Iraqi Ministry of Interior’s seizure of 7 million amphetamines, a result of collaboration with the Saudi Ministry of Interior.
The Cabinet authorized various agreements, including a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for cooperation in scientific and training activities with Egypt, cultural cooperation with Japan, and economic collaboration with Comoros. Additionally, it approved tax agreements with Iceland and customs cooperation with Pakistan.
Furthermore, the Council sanctioned air transport service agreements with Suriname and Lithuania, and MoUs aimed at enhancing educational assessments with Mauritania and vocational training frameworks with Pakistan. The Cabinet also authorized negotiations for a MoU with Malaysia’s Institute of Internal Auditors to foster cooperation in governance and compliance issues.
