CazeTV has secured rights to the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup via a sublicensing deal with DAZN, allowing the streaming of at least 39 live matches. The coverage includes extensive social media engagement and access through multiple platforms in Brazil. This initiative reinforces CazeTV’s growing partnership with FIFA, amid challenges previously faced in broadcast arrangements for the tournament.
CazeTV, a Brazilian sports streaming platform owned by LiveMode and streamer Casimiro Miguel, has acquired the rights to the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup (CWC) via a sublicensing agreement with DAZN. This partnership, announced on CazeTV’s social media, ensures that at least 39 of the 63 matches will be broadcast live, featuring Brazilian teams, as well as the semi-finals and finals.
The matches will be accessible live on CazeTV’s YouTube channels and various integrated streaming platforms, including Samsung TV Plus, Mercado Play, and Amazon Prime Video in Brazil. Four Brazilian clubs will compete: Botafogo, Flamengo, Fluminense, and Palmeiras. The platform will enhance its coverage through its social media channels, featuring dedicated teams to produce behind-the-scenes content and match highlights.
Fabio Medeiros, CazeTV’s head of content, emphasized the excitement surrounding the tournament, stating that bringing it to their platform aligns with their mission of connecting deeply with fans. This deal is part of a growing relationship between CazeTV and FIFA, which also includes rights for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar and multiple other tournaments.
DAZN has secured exclusive global rights to the CWC at a cost of approximately $1 billion and plans to stream all games for free while entering sublicensing arrangements in crucial markets to recover some expenses. This year, DAZN has sublicensed rights in Italy, Spain, the US, and Egypt, among others.
Shay Segev, DAZN’s CEO, highlighted that the partnership aims to engage Brazilian fans with innovative viewing experiences. Before DAZN’s involvement, FIFA faced challenges in securing a broadcast partner due to concerns from major stakeholders over the tournament’s logistics and additional games, leading to complaints from the players’ union.
The CWC is scheduled to commence on June 14, at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium, showcasing the world’s top 32 clubs across 63 matches within 29 days. The tournament will introduce a new format allowing multiple team slots per continental governing body, with South America’s Conmebol participating with six teams, including four Brazilian teams and two from Argentina.
CazeTV’s acquisition of the CWC rights through DAZN’s sublicensing marks a significant move in Brazilian sports streaming. This partnership will not only enhance viewer access to live matches but also foster fan engagement through robust social media coverage. As the CWC approaches, the innovative approach from CazeTV and DAZN seeks to connect fans to the tournament in unprecedented ways while navigating the complexities tied to its controversial nature.
