Several dining options are available, including Shake Shack, Chick-fil-A, and Panda Express, with Auntie Anne’s and Cinnabon expected to open shortly. Furthermore, three Starbucks outlets are situated at the service area, featuring one in the main restaurant and two Drive-Thru options in the parking lots.
Additional amenities at the Angola Service Area include outdoor seating, a dog walking area on both the eastbound and westbound sides, a private nursing area, a digital tourism kiosk, and four Level 3 high-speed electric vehicle chargers, which will be available at a later date. All service areas along I-90 from Albany to the Pennsylvania state line are now operational, indicating the completion of a significant phase in the redevelopment project.
According to Thruway Authority Executive Director Frank G. Hoare, “We’ve reached another milestone in the Service Area Redevelopment Project, as motorists can now enjoy a seamless trip on the Thruway with every new service area open from Albany to the Pennsylvania state line. The project is nearing completion with one location left to open, marking the Thruway Authority’s commitment to modernizing our transportation system and enhancing safety and reliability on the system.”
The reopening of the Angola Service Area represents a significant feat in the New York State Thruway’s modernization efforts. Notable dining options and various amenities improve traveler experience along I-90.
