Rafatu Inusah has been elected as the new President of the Ghana Rugby Football Union for the next four years, succeeding Herbert Mensah. She aims to enhance the representation of Ghana Rugby with the support of Vice-President Emmanuel Bamfi and new board members. Inusah inherits a strong foundation and will work to further develop the sport in Ghana.

Rafatu Inusah has been elected President of the Ghana Rugby Football Union (GRFU) for a term of four years. She previously served as a Board Member and was elected unopposed, succeeding Herbert Mensah, who now holds the position of President of Africa Rugby. Inusah’s extensive experience as an athlete, coach, and administrator positions her well to lead Ghana Rugby into a progressive future.

Inusah’s vision for the sport is ambitious, aiming to ensure strong representation for Ghana Rugby. “We are going to tirelessly work together to make sure that Ghana Rugby is well represented. I am happy and proud of all of us, not myself and very humbled,” she stated. She will coordinate efforts with Vice-President Emmanuel Bamfi to enhance the presence of Ghana Rugby on the continental level.

The elections also included key stakeholders such as World Rugby’s Dave Gilbert and Yaw Ampofo Ankrah, the acting Director General of the National Sports Authority. Alongside Inusah, new board members Prince Kwaku, Emmanuel Kalos, Abdul Saeed Samed, and SaCut Amenga-Etego were elected unopposed, with Anita Atieku serving as the Women’s Representative.

Inusah steps into her role with a solid foundation established by her predecessor, Herbert Mensah. Under Mensah’s leadership, Ghana Rugby was recognized as a full member of World Rugby in 2017, as well as Rugby Africa. Inusah’s primary challenge will be to build on this momentum and elevate Ghana Rugby further.

With her deep commitment and passion for rugby, Inusah is ready to make a meaningful impact. As she starts this new chapter, the Ghanaian rugby community looks forward to her leadership, hoping she meets their expectations and drives the sport to new horizons.

The election of Rafatu Inusah as President of the Ghana Rugby Football Union marks a pivotal moment for the organization, promising a focus on strong representation and development in the sport. Supported by Vice-President Emmanuel Bamfi and a dedicated board, Inusah aims to build on the successes of her predecessor, Herbert Mensah. Her leadership is anticipated to usher in a transformative era for Ghana Rugby, enhancing its influence on the continental stage.
