Macksons Tiles Lanka (Pvt) Limited, known as Macktiles, has officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to be featured in the inaugural Sri Lankan and Maldivian edition of “Essentials of Modern Marketing” by marketing expert Professor Philip Kotler. The signing ceremony occurred on March 10th in Mandarina Colombo, with Shimmer Milfer, Group CEO of Macksons Holdings, representing the company. Kaspersky Digital Footprint Intelligence reports a significant leak of bank credentials, estimating over 2.3 million bank cards have been compromised and appeared on the dark web due to data-stealing malware in 2023-2024. Each 14th infection of such malware results in stolen credit card information, with nearly 26 million devices infected globally.
The malware not only targets financial data but also gathers credentials and cookies, creating log files that are circulated within underground online communities. Various methods, including phishing emails and compromised software, are utilized to spread these malicious programs, affecting both personal and corporate devices.
According to Sergey Shcherbel from Kaspersky, the prevalence of data leaks and infections continues to rise. In 2024, the forecast estimates infected devices due to infostealers will range between 20 to 25 million. Redline and Risepro are the most notable infostealers, with Risepro’s infection rate surging dramatically from 1.4% to almost 23% within a year, heightening its threat profile.
The Commercial Bank of Ceylon’s 2023 Annual Report received multiple accolades at the 2025 ACCA Sustainability Reporting Awards, emphasizing the bank’s effective communication of sustainability-related information.
