Interior Minister Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak received food supplies from HUDAI Foundation to support inmates, alongside the foundation’s broader humanitarian efforts including Ramadan aid and development projects in Ghana.
The Interior Minister, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, has received essential food supplies from the Human Development Association International (HUDAI) Foundation, a Turkish organization dedicated to humanitarian efforts in Ghana. This donation, aimed at supporting inmates, aligns with HUDAI’s annual charitable initiatives.
On March 14, 2025, the minister was presented with items including rice, cooking oil, tomato paste, sugar, and spaghetti. Expressing his gratitude on March 21, he highlighted how these contributions alleviate challenges faced by prisoners and reaffirmed that the supplies would be utilized effectively.
The minister emphasized the importance of such support, stating, “Imprisonment is not a death sentence. Providing for inmates improves their well-being and aids in their rehabilitation.”
Remzi Şeker, General Coordinator of HUDAI Foundation, through Project Coordinator Abdurahim Yüce, reiterated their commitment to humanitarian service and expressed that their efforts stem from goodwill, asking only for prayers in return.
Additionally, HUDAI has distributed over 8,000 food packages to families during their Ramadan initiative, catering particularly to those in fasting, including special packages for Muslim communities. The foundation also significantly contributes to Ghana’s development by supporting infrastructure, education, and providing humanitarian aid.
Notable projects include the construction of the Ghana National Mosque in Accra, which serves as the second-largest mosque in West Africa, alongside various educational and health facilities. Furthermore, HUDAI promotes clean water access across Ghana, having established numerous boreholes in underserved areas, exemplified by their mechanized boreholes in Tamale in 2019.
The HUDAI Foundation’s recent donation of food supplies to Ghana’s prison service exemplifies their ongoing commitment to humanitarian efforts, particularly during Ramadan. With vital contributions that improve inmate conditions, the foundation not only addresses immediate needs but enhances rehabilitation efforts. Their extensive involvement in infrastructure and clean water initiatives positions them as a significant partner in Ghana’s development. Key beneficiaries include prisoners and families facing poverty, marking a collaborative effort for societal betterment.
