On March 12, 2025, the 5th meeting of the Coordination Committee of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) occurred at the OTS Secretariat in Istanbul. Turkmenistan was represented by Ambassador M. Ishangulyev, alongside Deputy Foreign Ministers from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Türkiye, Uzbekistan, and officials from Hungary, TURKSOY, and TURKPA, along with heads from various Turkic organizations.
The agenda involved assessing the implementation of decisions from the 11th OTS Summit, discussing joint organizational activities, and reviewing the Action Plan for 2025. Representatives from affiliated organizations also submitted reports on their 2024 activities.
In his remarks, Ambassador Ishangulyev highlighted the importance of peace and trust within the OTS framework. He detailed Turkmenistan’s initiatives in this area and commemorated the significance of the country’s 30th anniversary of permanent neutrality in 2025, which supports dialogue and international cooperation.
The Turkmen delegation stressed the importance of the UN General Assembly’s adoption of a resolution recognizing 2025 as the International Year of Peace and Trust at Turkmenistan’s initiative.
