Pakistani forces intervened, killing all 33 terrorists involved and successfully rescuing the passengers by Wednesday. Tragically, 21 civilians lost their lives before the operation commenced, and the rescue operation led to the loss of four Frontier Corps personnel.
In addition to addressing the attack, the spokesperson condemned Israel’s blockade of humanitarian aid to Gaza, labeling it an act aimed at weaponizing aid and undermining the dignity of Palestinians. He criticized the ongoing Israeli military assaults in the West Bank and Gaza for causing significant civilian casualties, including women and children.
Khan called for an immediate end to hostilities, protection for civilians, and unhindered access to humanitarian aid for those in Gaza. He urged the international community to intervene against what he termed a genocidal campaign and hold Israel accountable for its actions.
Furthermore, the spokesperson criticized India for declaring the ‘Awami Action Committee’ and ‘Jammu and Kashmir Ittihad-ul-Muslimeen’ as unlawful associations for five years. This decision raises the total number of outlawed political organizations in Jammu and Kashmir to 16, reflecting a continued suppressive stance by Indian authorities towards dissent.
Shafqat Khan urged the Indian government to lift restrictions on Kashmiri political groups, free all political prisoners, and adhere to UN Security Council resolutions regarding Jammu and Kashmir. He also condemned Israel’s resettlement proposal for Palestinians and highlighted the necessity for a viable Palestinian state based on pre-1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital, advocating for a two-state solution for long-lasting peace.
