Microsoft Flight Simulator has released World Update 19 for both 2020 and 2024 versions, encompassing Brazil, Guyana, Suriname, and French Guiana. This update is free for all users and features remarkable natural scenery, vibrant cities, and historical landmarks. Collaborating with Bing Maps, Maxar, and Vexcel, the update combines cutting-edge geospatial data, aerial photographs, satellite images, DEM, and DTM to enhance realism in the simulator.

World Update 19 includes 75 points of interest (POIs) such as the iconic Christ the Redeemer statue, Fort Zeelandia, Fort Diamant, and Monte Roraima. It highlights four TIN cities in Brazil: Brasilia, Ouro Preto, Rio de Janeiro, and Sao Paulo. In addition, there are seven newly handcrafted airports from Gaya Simulations:
– Brazil: Santarem-Maestro Wilson Fonseca International Airport (SBSN), Foz do Iguacu International Airport (SBFI), Fernando de Noronha Airport (SBFN), Santos Dumont (SBRJ)
– Guyana: Kaieteur International Airport (SYKA/PKSA)
– Suriname: Zorg en Hoop Airport (SMZO)
– French Guiana: Saint-Laurent-du-Maroni Airport (SOOM)

The update also features three Discovery Flights, three Landing Challenges, and three Bush Trips for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 users. Starting March 17, 2024, three additional content pieces related to Brazil will be introduced, including a helicopter challenge, a rally race, and a low-altitude challenge. Players can download World Update 19 for free from the MSFS Marketplace.

Additionally, Microsoft Flight Simulator has unveiled its latest Local Legend aircraft, the CAP-4 Paulistinha. Developed in the 1940s by Companhia Aeronáutica Paulista, this light trainer aircraft resembles the Piper Cub. It is powered by a Franklin 4AC 4-cylinder piston engine, providing 65 horsepower, a range of 310 miles, a cruise speed of 87 MPH, and a service ceiling of 13,000 feet.

Developed in partnership with iniBuilds, the CAP-4 Paulistinha comes with six liveries: N505, PP-HCP, PP-HIY, PP-HLJ, PP-TJR, and PT-ZGA. It is available as a complimentary update for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 users as compensation for the earlier launch issues. For Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 owners, the CAP-4 Paulistinha can be purchased for $14.99 from the MSFS Marketplace.

World Update 19 enriches Microsoft Flight Simulator with a wealth of content representing Brazil, Guyana, Suriname, and French Guiana. The update’s extensive use of updated geospatial data enhances realism, while the introduction of the CAP-4 Paulistinha adds a nostalgic aircraft to the mix. These updates reflect Microsoft Flight Simulator’s commitment to improving user experience with high-quality, engaging content, while keeping the community informed and involved.
