HMS Bergbau AG, a German firm, is undertaking geological exploration at the Akhmetkino lithium deposit, with an investment commitment of $8 million. If these reserves are verified, total potential investments could rise to $500 million, highlighting the project’s significance in enhancing the country’s resource base.
In conjunction with lithium projects, Kazakhstan is also advancing its tungsten production. A new tungsten processing plant has been inaugurated in the Almaty Region as of November 1, 2024. The construction of a mining and beneficiation complex is now complete, with commissioning activities for mineral extraction currently in progress. The overall value of this tungsten project is estimated at $300 million.
