BPR Bank Rwanda commemorated its 50-year anniversary alongside International Women’s Day (IWD) in Nyagatare on March 7. This occasion highlighted the bank’s ongoing commitment to women’s empowerment, particularly in the eastern region where its first branch was opened in Nkamba.
The celebration commenced with the Managing Director and management team participating in Nyagatare District’s ‘Night Run.’ This initiative aimed to promote physical activity, health, and wellness among women. The event unified local women, district leaders, and BPR Bank customers to acknowledge the essential contributions of women in community development.
Following the run, BPR Bank organized a dinner featuring the Managing Director, senior bank officials, and the Mayor of Nyagatare. Women customers participated in discussions concerning women’s empowerment, financial services’ role in community growth, and the importance of supporting women’s leadership in Rwanda.
Patience Mutesi, Managing Director of BPR Bank, remarked on the significance of celebrating IWD in Nyagatare while highlighting the bank’s history. “At BPR Bank, we take pride in our roots in the eastern region, where our first branch was established in Nkamba. This event celebrates the strength, resilience, and determination of women across Rwanda.”
