Eight strong Kazakh female boxers have made it to the finals of the Adriatic Pearl Youth Tournament held in Budva, Montenegro. This tournament follows the IBA Youth World Boxing Championships that took place in the same city last fall, marking the return of international boxing events to Budva just months later.

Competitors born in 2007 and 2008 are eligible to participate in this tournament, which features 12 women and 13 men weight categories. Noteworthy nations competing include Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Poland, Turkey, Cuba, and Azerbaijan, among others.

In the flyweight semi-final (52kg), Kazakhstan’s Rakhmina Abdumezhitova surpassed expectations by defeating Turkey’s Rabia Eylul Duman. Although Duman is an experienced boxer, Abdumezhitova’s effective strategy paved her way to the final where she will face Russia’s Junior World Champion, Snezhana Kuznetsova.

In women’s featherweight (57kg), Aknur Tursyngali continued her impressive performance by eliminating Russia’s Arina Kuzmicheva. Her teammate, Regina Tibenyova, also secured her place in the final by defeating Belarus’ rising star, Natalia Nasachova.

Kazakhstan’s ASBC Champion Alina Kudaigenova, arriving as a favorite in women’s light welterweight (63kg), displayed her advanced technical skills against Turkey’s Elif Elden. Kudaigenova will contest against Russia’s Irina Korobova in the final of her weight class.

ASBC Asian Junior silver medallist Akbota Yessimbekova, who performed strongly in the earlier rounds, continued her momentum by defeating Azerbaijan’s Ozlam Hasanova in women’s welterweight (66kg). She will face fellow Kazakh, Junior World Champion Aisulu Mukhit, who won against Russia’s Maria Mashnikova.

Returning to Budva after a four-month break, Mariya Sidorenko, an 18-year-old light middleweight (70kg) boxer, achieved victory by stopping Russia’s Vlada Kuleshova in the semi-finals. Teammate Sabina Zhaksylyk also emerged victorious in her heavyweight (+81kg) match by RSC.
