Ambassadors from Ireland and Sweden echoed calls for empowerment of marginalized groups, especially women and youth, as foundational to an inclusive democracy. The Irish Ambassador noted, “Empowering women, youth, and marginalized communities is essential to building a more inclusive democracy.”
The summit fostering collaboration across diplomatic missions reinforced international support for Liberia’s governance initiatives, aiming to create an accountable system that resonates with all citizens. Recommendations developed included actionable policies to ensure legal and political equality, particularly advocating for women’s representation in politics.
Delegates proposed creating a Community of Practice (CoP) that will encompass stakeholders and serve as a dynamic platform for sustained dialogue on democratic governance issues.
