During his visit, PM Modi will collaborate with Prime Minister Navinchandra Ramgoolam to inaugurate projects financed by India. The trip will also include signing Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) on topics such as bilateral trade, capacity building, combating cross-border financial crimes, and fostering small to medium enterprises.

In addition to official duties, Modi will meet with the Indian community and various socio-cultural organizations in Mauritius. An Indian naval ship will take part in the March 12 celebrations, complemented by the participation of the Indian Air Force’s Aakash Ganga skydiving team.

Upon his arrival in Port Louis, Modi will receive a ceremonial welcome. He will visit the Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Botanical Garden to honor notable Mauritian leaders, including Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam and Sir Anerood Jugnauth. Furthermore, he will engage with the newly elected President of Mauritius, Dharambeer Gokhool.

The Foreign Secretary mentioned a previous MOU regarding improvements on Agal ga Island, enhancing its connectivity to the mainland. Notably, these developments facilitated efficient disaster response during a recent cyclone, exemplifying the capability of the infrastructure created.

Mauritian Prime Minister Ramgoolam acknowledged PM Modi’s visit as a significant gesture, highlighting the strong relationship between the two countries. The visit will include PM Modi acting as the Guest of Honour during the flag-raising ceremony in Port-Louis, followed by a cultural program showcasing national diversity.
