Rain interruptions led Namibia to receive a revised target of 71 runs in 15 overs, which they successfully chased down, scoring 73 runs for the loss of four wickets in 14.5 overs.

Namibia’s Mekelaye Mwatile was the top scorer, securing 26 runs that included three boundaries. Arrasta Diergaardt supported with an unbeaten 13 runs off seven balls. For Nepal, the bowling efforts yielded one wicket each for Puja Mahato, Kabita Joshi, Indu Barma, and Ishwori Bist. Nepal’s innings saw opener Samjhana Khadka leading with a score of 18 runs off 11 balls, complemented by Kabita Joshi’s 16 runs off 31 deliveries and an additional 13 from Puja Mahato.

The match marked the inaugural meeting between the women’s teams of Nepal and Namibia, and it also represented Nepal’s first international outing beyond the Asian continent. The T20 series includes a double round-robin format, featuring Uganda, Nepal, Namibia, and Hong Kong, where the top teams will advance to the final.

In other news, Uganda commenced their series with a win against Hong Kong, managing to restrict their rivals to just 75 runs and successfully pursuing the target with a score of 78 for two wickets in 17.2 overs. Nepal will next face the host Uganda on March 9 (Sunday).
