Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi praised Chebukati as an unyielding servant of the people, while National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula admired his adherence to constitutional fidelity under pressure during three presidential elections.

Senate Leader Amason Kingi recognized Chebukati as a legal role model who spoke only when necessary. He emphasized that the nation has lost a respected leader with a significant legacy. The late Chebukati is survived by his wife and three children: Jonathan, Emmanuel, and Racheal.
