The President noted instances where luxurious palaces were constructed on state properties without proper authorization, particularly highlighting locations in Bizerte and Ariana. Additionally, the President discussed a draft legislation designed to prioritize the allocation of state lands to community-driven entrepreneurs to stimulate economic growth and combat unemployment. This approach is intended to enhance wealth creation within local communities.
Moreover, a draft law was presented regarding the sale of designated lands to the “Société Nationale Immobilière de Tunisie” (SNIT) and the “Société de promotion des logements sociaux” (SPROLS) for a nominal fee of one dinar. During the meeting, the President recalled a nationwide land survey project initiated in the 1970s that was abruptly suspended despite having funds allocated for it. This cessation was reportedly to conceal numerous violations, particularly concerning agricultural lands. Saied highlighted that many land grabs disguised as legal transfers from public to private ownership occurred, initially for a symbolic millime and subsequently for a symbolic dinar.
