The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) recognized Dangote Industries and its subsidiary Bluestar Shipping as the most tax-compliant organizations in Nigeria, an honor bestowed during the 2024 Lagos International Trade Fair. The FIRS is responsible for tax assessment and collection for the Nigerian Federal Government.

Chiejina emphasized the company’s commitment to fulfilling its tax obligations and contributing to community welfare through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). He outlined how Dangote Group’s corporate strategies have adapted as the company has diversified across sectors and regions over the past four decades.

Furthermore, Dangote Group has significantly contributed to Nigeria’s self-sufficiency in both cement and refined petroleum products, while also expanding its reach throughout Africa. The Group received accolades for tax compliance and, at the FMDQ Gold Awards, its subsidiary Dangote Cement secured three awards for its activity in the Foreign Exchange market.

Dangote Cement was recognized as having the Largest Commercial Paper Quotation and the Single Largest Corporate Debt Issue on the FMDQ, while also being named the “Most active corporate in the foreign exchange market.”
