General James Kabarebe noted during a meeting that the FDLR has survived for thirty years, aided by international support aimed at threatening Rwanda’s development.
Minister of National Unity and Civic Engagement, Jean Damascène Bizimana, recently hosted a meeting with MPs, government officials, and civil society members on March 5. Attending the event, retired General James Kabarebe highlighted that the FDLR, a group implicated in genocide, has persisted for over thirty years. He pointed out that international support, particularly from influential nations, sustains this group’s existence, using it as a means to threaten Rwanda’s progress and development.
The FDLR remains a significant concern for Rwanda’s development, having survived for three decades largely due to international backing. This situation necessitates vigilance and action to mitigate external influences that could hinder Rwanda’s growth.
