Galileo Resources Unveils New Drill Targets in Botswana’s Kalahari Copperbelt

Galileo Resources has identified new drilling targets in Botswana’s Kalahari Copperbelt through recent IP geophysical surveys. Anomalies indicate promising areas for exploration within its licenses PL039/2018 and PL040/2018. Company leaders are optimistic about advancing drilling activities based on these findings, and further updates will be provided pending board approval.

Galileo Resources PLC (AIM: GLR) announced the identification of new drilling targets in the Kalahari Copperbelt region of Botswana, specifically within its licenses PL039/2018 and PL040/2018. An Induced Polarisation (IP) geophysical survey across five surveyed lines revealed notable anomalies, which are viewed as promising for further exploration.

Colin Bird, Chairman and CEO of Galileo, stated that earlier exploration on these licenses highlighted anomalies identified through soil geochemical surveys near the southeastern margin of the Kalahari Copperbelt. He mentioned the effectiveness of preliminary scout drilling, which indicated the viability of these targets.

Bird emphasized that the recent geophysical surveys have clarified the targets, warranting a dedicated drilling program. He expressed enthusiasm for these results, declaring them as significant encouragement to advance with the confirmed geophysical targets actively.

The company plans to include geochemical analysis of past drill cores to confirm the presence and extent of copper mineralization, which will play a crucial part in planning the forthcoming drilling campaign. Updates will be provided to investors upon approval of the drilling program by the Galileo board.

In summary, Galileo Resources has successfully pinpointed new drill targets in Botswana’s Kalahari Copperbelt following promising geophysical surveys. The findings, together with previous geochemical analyses, support the potential for copper mineralization. The company anticipates sharing further developments as it moves forward with its drilling program.
