The ICC has announced a record prize pool of $6.9 million (approximately Rs 60.28 crore) for the Champions Trophy 2025, with the winning team taking home Rs 19.45 crore ($2.24 million). All eight participating teams will receive prize money, regardless of their performance.
Pakistan had a disappointing run in the tournament, finishing last in Group A with just one point, failing to win any of the three matches they played, including a washed-out game against Bangladesh. Consequently, Pakistan, securing the 7th/8th position, earned $265,000 (Rs 2.29 crore), which includes $140,000 for their finish and $125,000 for participation.
Similarly, England also failed to win in Group B, losing all three matches against Australia, Afghanistan, and South Africa. Like Pakistan, England ended up at 7th/8th and received the same prize money of $265,000 (Rs 2.29 crore) for their performance and participation.
Bangladesh, despite not winning any matches in Group A, finished in 5th/6th position after a washed-out game with Pakistan. They received $475,000 (approximately Rs 4.15 crore), which comprises $350,000 for their placement and $125,000 for participation.
Afghanistan finished similarly to Bangladesh in Group B but managed to secure a win against England. Their total prize money stands at $509,000 (around Rs 4.45 crore), which includes $350,000 for their placement, $125,000 for participation, and an additional $34,000 for their group-stage victory.
As of now, India, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa are competing in the semi-finals. The two losing teams will receive $560,000 in prize money, in addition to the mandatory participation rewards and bonuses for group stage victories, which differ from those awarded to the finalists.
In summary, the Champions Trophy 2025 presented substantial prize money, benefiting all participating teams. While Pakistan and England ended up in last place without wins, they still received financial rewards. In contrast, Bangladesh and Afghanistan earned more for their placements and contributions, showcasing the competitive nature of the tournament.
