Khaled Abbas, Chairperson of ACUD, and Mohamed Sofiane Berrah, Algeria’s Ambassador to Egypt, formalized the agreement in the presence of senior officials. Berrah remarked that the project marks a significant shift for Egypt, alleviating congestion, improving services, and lessening Cairo’s burden. He acknowledged the leadership’s directive from both nations and thanked ACUD for their collaboration in finalizing the deal.
Abbas expressed gratitude towards the Algerian Ambassador, emphasizing the importance of this agreement for the embassy’s relocation. He noted that Algeria’s representation will enhance the diplomatic community within the New Administrative Capital’s hub. The master plan for this area includes relocating all foreign embassies from various Cairo districts to what will become the premier diplomatic sector.
