The delegation landed at Hosea Kutako International Airport in Windhoek on February 26, 2025, and was welcomed by Tanzania’s Ambassador to Namibia, Caesar Waitara.
Starting from February 27, the CCM delegation will partake in various ceremonies to honor Dr. Nujoma, who passed away at the age of 95 on February 8, 2025. The events lead up to the funeral service, which will take place at Heroes’ Acre cemetery in Windhoek.
The national memorial service is set for February 28, where Dr. Nchimbi will pay tribute before the official funeral. The CCM and Namibia’s ruling SWAPO party share a deep historical connection, having worked together during the liberation struggle against colonialism.
