On February 27, 2025, North Arrow Minerals updated its exploration activities at the Kraaipan Gold Project, Botswana. The ongoing magnetic surveys are 80% complete, aiding in the assessment of structural and bedrock features beneath Kalahari sands. A reverse-circulation drilling program is planned to begin in May, identifying gold mineralization targets. North Arrow aims to invest $5 million to earn a 60% interest in the project by 2027.
North Arrow Minerals Inc. has announced significant progress in its exploration efforts at the Kraaipan Gold Project in Botswana. Covering 724 km² of underexplored Archean greenstone terrain known as the Kraaipan Greenstone Belt (KGB), the project aims to uncover gold and base metal deposits. Historical exploration has been limited due to a thin overburden of Kalahari sands and gravels, which restricts traditional geological approaches. The South African portion of the KGB is better studied, hosting operations like Harmony Gold’s Kalgold mine.
Ken Armstrong, President and CEO, highlighted the innovative techniques being utilized, particularly high-resolution Remote Mapper UAV magnetic surveys. Currently, 80% of the project area has been surveyed, and further structural mapping of banded iron formation (BIF) outcrops is underway. These magnetic surveys are set for completion in April, providing critical data to identify bedrock features beneath the Kalahari cover, alongside geochemical data from previous surveys.
A three-month reverse-circulation (RC) drilling program is anticipated to commence in May, targeting priority zones identified through these surveys. The RC drilling will focus on collecting geochemical samples to detect gold mineralization and associated geological alterations beneath the Kalahari sand cover. An optimized drilling platform is expected to enhance efficiency, allowing 3 to 5 holes per day, facilitating a systematic regional assessment.
The Kraaipan Gold Project encompasses three mineral concessions over a 60 km strike in the KGB, with proven gold potential. Although challenged by Kalahari overburden that covers about 80% of the region, previous exploration revealed local gold deposits in shallow drilling. The current aim is to explore for BIF-related gold deposits beneath the sand cover, leveraging advanced exploration methods in collaboration with Rockman Resources.
North Arrow aims to acquire a 60% interest in the Kraaipan project by investing $5 million by mid-2027, including a $1 million commitment by mid-2025. Despite the promising objectives, North Arrow’s operations, future projections, and explorative pursuits remain subject to inherent industry risks and uncertainties. The company maintains a continued focus on its Canadian diamond interests while exploring the KGB’s potential.
North Arrow Minerals is advancing its exploration at the Kraaipan Gold Project with innovative surveying and drilling techniques, aiming to uncover gold deposits beneath challenging Kalahari sands. With 80% of the project surveyed and a drilling program scheduled to start in May, the company is strategically working to identify new mineralization targets. The project holds significant promise, despite the historical challenges of previous explorations.
