Cosco has launched the WSA5 express service to speed up Ecuadorean banana and shrimp deliveries to China. Starting with the Xin Ou Zhou vessel, the service reduces transit time to 27 days, compared to 35 to 55 days by other services, enhancing logistical efficiency.
Cosco has introduced a new express ocean service aimed at expediting the transport of Ecuadorean shrimps and bananas to China. This service, identified as WSA5, began operations with the vessel Xin Ou Zhou, which has a capacity of 8,528 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs). The service will make stopovers at Chancay, Peru, and Shanghai, with an anticipated transit time of 27 days from Ecuador to China, which is considerably faster than the typical 35 to 55 days offered by existing shipping services.
Overall, Cosco’s launch of the WSA5 service significantly reduces shipping times for Ecuadorean produce to China. The strategic stopovers and improved logistics not only enhance delivery speed but also strengthen trade relations between Ecuador and China.
