The Bundesliga has committed to increasing its collaboration with Vietnam’s national football team by organizing friendly matches with more German clubs, as detailed in a memorandum signed with the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) on Wednesday. This partnership will enhance cooperation until 2028, aiming to develop Vietnamese football through youth programs, coach training, and improved management practices.
At the signing ceremony, Peer Naubert, managing director of Bundesliga International GmbH, noted the success of past events, particularly a friendly match between Vietnam and Borussia Dortmund in 2022. Naubert pledged to bring additional prominent clubs to Vietnam, emphasizing the importance of this relationship and ongoing youth training initiatives, including the Vietnamese women’s team’s training in Germany.
Naubert highlighted Vietnam’s potential as a key market for the Bundesliga, expressing a strong commitment to fostering sports relations between Vietnam and German clubs. Conversations are ongoing regarding the training and friendly matches for Dortmund’s youth team in Hanoi, showcasing the intention to enhance Vietnam’s football infrastructure and talent.
During discussions about youth development, Naubert recognized Vietnam’s vast reservoir of young football talent.
