Cosco has launched the WSA5 express service to expedite the shipping of Ecuadorean shrimp and bananas to China, reducing delivery time to 27 days, significantly faster than existing services.

Cosco has introduced an expedited ocean service, designated as WSA5, aiming to enhance the delivery efficiency of Ecuadorean shrimp and bananas to China. The service commenced with the vessel Xin Ou Zhou Guayaquil, capable of carrying 8,528 TEUs, and is set to make calls at Chancay, Peru, before heading to Shanghai. This new route is expected to reduce transit times to approximately 27 days—a significant improvement over the typical 35 to 55 days associated with alternative routes.

The launch of Cosco’s WSA5 service marks a pivotal advancement in the logistics of exporting Ecuadorean produce to China. By significantly reducing shipping times, this service could enhance trade efficiency and market competitiveness for Ecuadorean shrimp and bananas.
