Besides political discussions, Qalibaf addressed the recent suspension of Tehran-Beirut flights by Lebanese authorities, which he attributed to pressure from Washington and Tel Aviv. He described this suspension as a blatant example of U.S. interference in Lebanese affairs. Prime Minister Salam indicated that Lebanon is exploring the possibility of re-establishing these flights.
The cancellation of flights has sparked protests by Lebanese citizens, who accuse their government of complying with Israeli demands. Rising anti-Israeli sentiments in Lebanon are largely fueled by the high casualties and destruction inflicted by Israel.
