At the Uganda International Challenge 2025 badminton tournament held in Kampala, India achieved remarkable success, winning three titles. The standout player was Manraj Singh, who secured the men’s singles crown. Singh defeated Azerbaijan’s Dicky Dwi Pangestu in a tightly contested final with scores of 21-10, 17-21, 21-18, showcasing his skill and determination over the course of an hour. This victory follows his earlier triumph at the Iran Fajr International Challenge.
In mixed doubles, the title went to Ishaan Bhatnagar and Srinidhi Narayanan, who faced off against their compatriots Dhruv Rawat and Maneesha K. The match concluded prematurely as Rawat and Maneesha retired due to injury. Bhatnagar and Narayanan had already taken the first game 21-18 and were leading 9-3 in the second before the retirement, demonstrating their strong form in this tournament.
The men’s doubles final featured two Indian teams: Dingku Singh Konthoujam and Amaan Mohammad vs. Akshan Shetty and Sankar Prasad Udayakumar. After losing the first game, Dingku and Amaan rallied to win the next two games 21-15, 21-17, ultimately winning the match in 42 minutes. Their comeback highlighted their resilience and teamwork throughout the tournament.
