On August 19, 2024, the Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Canada, will visit Côte d’Ivoire, followed by South Africa. In Côte d’Ivoire, on August 19-20, she plans to meet with Vice-President Tiémoko Meyliet Koné and Minister of Defense Téné Birahima Ouattara to discuss counterterrorism efforts and regional security. Additionally, Joly will engage in a bilateral meeting with Minister Delegate for Foreign Affairs Ouattara Wautabouna to address mutual interests and reaffirm Canada’s commitment to La Francophonie.
