The Kuwaiti Council of Ministers has established a grievance committee to handle citizenship withdrawal cases. In a significant move, the Kuwaiti Council of Ministers convened under the chairmanship of Acting Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahd Yousef Saud Al-Sabah on February 19, 2025. They established a new grievance committee to manage issues related to the withdrawal and revocation of Kuwaiti citizenship, aiming to streamline processes and address grievances effectively.
The committee will be led by Counselor Ali Musaed Al-Dhubaibi, with Abdul Wahab Abdul Rahman Al-Muzaini appointed as Vice President. Additional members include Counselor Khaled Abdulrahman Al-Bakr from the Fatwa and Legislation Department, Jamal Khalifa Al-Rish, the former Deputy Director General of the General Department of Investigations, and Fawaz Suleiman Al-Mishaan, former Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Nationality and Travel Documents Affairs.
Furthermore, the Council reviewed the minutes from the Supreme Committee for the Investigation of Nationality, focusing on cases of nationality loss and withdrawal. This review aligns with Decree-Law No. 15 of 1959 concerning Kuwaiti nationality and its amendments, ensuring adherence to established legal frameworks during the process.
