The 2025 Drag Racing Championship, organized by the Guyana Motor Racing and Sports Club (GMR&SC), commenced successfully at South Dakota Circuit, offering fans and participants an exhilarating day of racing. Perfect weather and a well-functioning timing system contributed to an incident-free event, allowing all classes to finish ahead of schedule and introducing several new champions across categories.

Highlighting the achievements of female competitors, Ashley Persaud (162, Toyota ZN86) became only the second woman to win a class in the competition, taking home first place in the 16-second Class. Additionally, Crystal Singh (1320, Volkswagen Golf R) excelled in the Female Class, recording an impressive time of 12.847 seconds, setting a new benchmark for women in drag racing.

Young talent was also celebrated, with 12-year-old Matthew Daby achieving the fastest time for junior drivers, completing the 1320-foot drag strip in a remarkable 13.193 seconds in his Junior Dragster. His father, Peter Daby (728, Mazda RX-7), claimed the fastest overall time of the day with a swift 9.506-second run.
