The Pacific Partnership 2022 (PP22) commenced on July 12 in Koror, Palau. Celebrating its 17th year, this event is the Indo-Pacific’s largest annual multinational humanitarian assistance and disaster relief mission. The PP22 team includes personnel from Australia, Japan, the United Kingdom, and the United States, collaborating with local counterparts on various humanitarian and disaster relief initiatives.
U.S. Ambassador to Palau, John Hennessey-Niland, emphasized the significance of this partnership, stating that it demonstrates a commitment to the people of Palau and the broader region. He expressed enthusiasm for mutual cooperation aimed at ensuring a Free and Open Indo-Pacific.
The activities undertaken during PP22 are tailored to meet Palau’s specific requirements. Engagements will include expert exchanges on medical specialties such as pediatric and maternal care, neonatal care, intensive care, mental health for veterans, and physical therapy.
