The Ministry of Public Works in Cameroon has proposed a budget of CFA 42.1 billion for the maintenance of unpaved roads in 2025. The initiative focuses on 19 specific projects covering a total of 1,337 kilometers. Among the identified projects, five are concentrated in the Far North region, which is set to receive the highest number of maintenance operations. While some of these projects are already over 50% completed, others are still in the planning stages. This targeted approach aims to enhance road conditions across various regions.
In addition to the unpaved road projects, the Ministry has allocated CFA 106 billion for significant repairs on four major routes: Mora-Tchakamari in the Far North, Up Hill-Amour Mezam in the Northwest, Mbalmayo-Sangmelima in the Central-South, and the Lékié loop in the Central region. Furthermore, over CFA 54 billion has been designated for an additional 10 maintenance projects nationwide.
