Brigadier General Nabil Abdallah, an army spokesperson, stated that the military operations in the region had eradicated the presence of the RSF and its affiliates. “Our forces have completed today the clearing of the Abu Quta area and areas east of the Nile and Kafouri from the remnants of the terrorist militia of the Daglo family,” he noted in his announcement.
Local resistance groups reported that confrontation had occurred at the entrance of Abu Quta earlier the same day. They indicated that the army had made significant progress—and had approached within three kilometers of the town—before fighting shifted towards its southeastern entrance.
