Rwanda Police SWAT Team Achieves Record at UAE Challenge

The Rwanda National Police SWAT Team One broke their own record at the UAE SWAT Challenge, completing the Obstacle Course in 03:46.2, winning gold among 102 teams. Team Two placed 12th overall, with Team One finishing 10th overall. This event gathers teams worldwide to enhance tactical skills and cooperation among SWAT units.

The Rwanda National Police (RNP) SWAT Team One set a new record at the UAE Special Weapon and Tactics (SWAT) Challenge, achieving a remarkable time of 03:46.2 in the Obstacle Course event. This achievement secured them the gold medal against a competitive field of 102 teams representing over 70 countries during the five-day event, which concluded on February 5 in Dubai. This performance surpassed their previous record of 03:54, established the prior year.

In addition to the success of Team One, Rwanda’s SWAT Team Two placed 12th in the Obstacle Course. Notably, the UAE SWAT Challenge features multiple demanding events that test tactical skills. The overall ranking for RNP SWAT Team One was 10th, while Team Two finished in 18th place, showcasing the RNP’s strong presence in this international competition.

This event, which gathered 103 teams worldwide, included five rigorous categories: Assault Event, Tactical Event, Officer Rescue, Tower Event, and Obstacle Course. The participants compete not only to showcase their physical endurance but also to enhance global law enforcement collaboration and best practices sharing across the SWAT community.

This year’s challenge marked the fourth participation of the Rwanda National Police in the global SWAT Challenge, emphasizing their commitment to improving their operational skills and international standing.
