Canyon Resources has gained government approval for an inland rail facility to support the Minim Martap Bauxite Project in Cameroon. Canyon Resources has received approval from the Government of Cameroon for its inland rail facility (IRF), a significant step towards advancing the Minim Martap Bauxite Project. This facility is strategically located near the Makor Railway Station, enhancing connections with the existing infrastructure. Furthermore, Camalco Cameroon, Canyon’s local subsidiary, has been allocated 105 hectares by the Lamido of Ngaoundere for future IRF expansions.
The new approval follows an underwriting agreement with Eagle Eye Asset Holdings (EEA) for the procurement of rolling stock. Canyon is actively developing logistical and infrastructure solutions to support the project’s definitive feasibility study (DFS), aimed at minimizing risks and fostering a successful transition to production. Once operational, the IRF will serve as a crucial loading station for bauxite ore being transported from Minim Martap to the port.
Canyon’s CEO, Jean Sebastien Boutet, emphasized the transformative nature of the last six months for the company, referencing the establishment of initial infrastructure and the support received from partners and governmental bodies.
