The initiative “Lab Innova for Africa – Tanzania” commenced yesterday in Dar Es Salaam, forming part of the broader “Lab Innova for Africa Luca Attanasio” project by Agenzia Ice. This program provides technical-managerial training aimed at enhancing the internationalisation and growth of African businesses within the agribusiness sector, utilizing theoretical lessons, collaborative projects, and insights from business leaders.
The inauguration event featured key figures including Italian Ambassador Giuseppe Sean Coppola, Ice Office Nairobi Director Giuseppe Manenti, Ice Addis Ababa Director Claudio Pasqualucci, and Timoth Mmbaga from the African Council of Tanzania. This project is making its debut in Tanzania, recognized as a focal area for the Mattei Plan.
Since its launch in 2019, the initiative has been operational in 17 African countries, benefiting over 450 companies, particularly in agribusiness and ICT. Its goal is to enhance the capabilities of both African and Italian firms, facilitating effective engagement in each other’s markets while bolstering business, investment, and partnership prospects.
Tanzania has demonstrated crucial advancements in agriculture, showcasing diverse ecosystems that support a variety of crops. These developments ensure food security, surplus exports, and the enhancement of the agro-industrial sector.
