President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday permitted the appointment of Hafsat Bakari as Director/Chief Government Officer of the Nigerian Monetary Intelligence Unit, pending her affirmation by the Senate.
Bakari replaces Modibbo Tukur who was faraway from workplace by Tinubu in June 2023.
The appointment was contained in an announcement by Tinubu's Particular Adviser to the President (Media and Publicity), Ajuri Ngelale.
Bakari was described as a lawyer and monetary intelligence professional with years of expertise in anti-money laundering, terrorist financing and counter-proliferation financing.
