In continuation of the struggle towards armed bandits, criminals and insecurity in Nigeria, operatives of the Sokoto State Police Command, appearing on intelligence, intercepted and arrested a gaggle of 5 individuals suspected of being members of a kidnapping syndicate alongside the Bodinga River -Tambunwal Freeway. .
In response to police spokesperson ACP Muyiwa Adejobi, the suspects have been present in possession of three AK-47, 90 rounds of dwell ammunition and three AK-47 magazines.
The suspects are Abdullahi Ali, Aliyu Mohammed, Abdullahi Umar, Aliyu Abdullahi and Mohammed Anas. All of them confessed to the crime and revealed that they have been heading to Tambuwal for a kidnapping operation earlier than they have been thwarted by the boys of the Nigerian Police Drive.
Equally, on February 14, 2024, at about 5:50 p.m., some suspected bandits have been noticed close to Gigane Village, Sokoto State and have been instantly chased by operatives of the State Tactical Staff.
Upon contact, the bandits engaged the operatives in a fierce gun duel, and a few of them have been neutralized, whereas a GPMG rifle with six dwell rounds of ammunition was recovered from the scene.
Efforts are intensifying to find different fleeing gang members and criminally minded parts within the state and face them with the wrath of the regulation.
