Forward of the November governorship election in Ondo State, leaders and members of the opposition Peoples Democratic Celebration (PDP) and Zenith Labor Celebration (ZLP) yesterday defected of their numbers to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Receiving the defectors, the Ondo APC State Chairman, Ade Adetimehin, mentioned the remaining political heavyweights within the PDP have joined the progressive household.
Whereas stressing that the PDP was in a carcass within the state, Adetimehin assured the defectors that they might be handled equally within the APC.
Based on him, “We have now simply acquired the remaining pillars within the Ondo PDP. The PDP is now a carcass in Ondo State. Within the Ondo APC, the get together and the federal government are one. We work collectively in concord. Now that we’ve joined APC, there isn’t any founder, no joiner. We deal with you equally in our departments and in native authorities. Come display your capabilities within the APC.”
Among the many defectors was a former candidate for the Home of Representatives, Dare Aliu. Dr. Felder Olatunji, Olu Falolu, Hon. Anodele Ikumawoyi, Pastor Olatunde Felix, Chief Pius Akinrinmola, Hon. Isaac Olaleye, Alhaji Adebayo Oyewumi, Yele Akinya, Akinmoye Ajewole and Adegborioye Sunday.
Others are Chief Ayekomilogboa Tayo, Mrs. Toyin Akindele, Com. Akinmade Babatunde, Mrs. Taju Mopinola, Tonu Ala, Vice Chairman of PDP Leaders Discussion board, Hon. Dele Faboro, Comrade Ajisafe Omobumi, Olusegun Samuel, Adeyeye Michael, Adermola Elegbe, Jimoh Ibrahim, Adeolu Adeniran, Comrade Femi and Rotimi Akindejoye, amongst others.
A former PDP lawmaker, Tomide Akinribido, mentioned the transfer would mark a complete victory for the APC within the November governorship election.
He mentioned: “We are going to work to safe victory. It’s a landslide victory in Ondo West. I’ll promote cohesion inside the get together. We are going to work with our leaders. We are going to work in keeping with the get together's dictates.”
Chief Tony Ala mentioned the APC would win the polls with over 700,000 votes.
“Akure is APC; APC is Akure. You will notice change in Akure South. APC has blessed us in Akure.”
Aliu mentioned he joined the APC regardless of financial hardship as a result of he knew prosperity would quickly come to the nation.
