Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, has expressed shock over the information of the loss of life of Dr. Herbert Wigwe, his spouse Chizoba, his son and others in a helicopter crash in California, close to the border with Nevada, United States.
Wigwe was from Rivers State.
The governor described the incident as a “monumental catastrophe.”
He stated Rivers State and Nigeria had been in tears over the event.
This was contained in an announcement on Sunday by the media aide to the governor, Boniface Onyedi.
Fubara, on behalf of his household, the state authorities and the individuals of the state, expressed condolences to the Wigwe household over the incident.
He urged them to be comforted by God's assurance of His love.
The governor stated there are not any phrases to convey how devastating the losses are, and that the state and Nigeria will miss “a humble, iconic and completed illustrious son of Isiokpo in Ikwerre Native Authorities Space of Rivers State”.
