The federal authorities has prolonged the suspension of economic actions to flee from the Republic of Niger to Nigeria and from Nigeria to the nation's northern neighbor, in line with the decision of the Financial Group of West African States.
This decision was put ahead by ECOWAS in response to the occasions within the Republic of Niger on July 26, 2023, when democratically elected President Mohamed Bazoum was deposed in a coup and changed by the navy junta led by Common Abdourrahamane Tchiani.
This directive (Discover to Airmen (NOTAM)) was contained in a letter entitled: ECOWAS Restriction on the Republic of Nigeria, from the Nigerian Airspace Administration Company (NAMA) Aeronautical Data Companies dated February 2, 2024 and signed by the Director of Air Site visitors Companies , Tayo John, on behalf of the company's Managing Director and Chief Government Officer.

The directive said: “Pursuant to ECOWAS resolutions, all business flights from Niger to Nigeria, or from Nigeria to Niger, or from Niger flying over Nigeria, or any state flying over Nigeria to Niger, are suspended.”

It added: “These restrictions don’t have an effect on: the overflight of plane by Niger's airspace; plane in emergency and particular flights.”
It additional introduced that “permission for particular flights should be obtained from the Everlasting Secretary of the Ministry of Aviation and Area.”
