Jubril Gawat, a media aide to Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has revealed that some freeway gangs parading themselves as members of the defunct Lagos State Parks and Garages Company are harassing truck drivers alongside the Apapa/Oshodi and Lagos/ Badagry Expressway.
Gawat made this announcement after the arrest of 51 infamous freeway gang members.
The arrest was carried out right now (Tuesday, February 6, 2024) by the Lagos State Taskforce led by the Chairman of the Company, CSP Shola Jejeloye.
In an announcement on his X-handle, Gawat mentioned the suspects have been recognized for his or her brutal ways of forcing truck drivers to half with cash.
He mentioned this act by the gang is being carried out beneath the pretext of working for the Lagos State Parks and Garages Company.
He acknowledged that the gang, which operated with impunity, uncovered many drivers to bodily hurt and bestiality when resisting extortion makes an attempt.
