Pope Francis has stated that African tradition makes folks on the continent illiberal of blessings for same-sex {couples}.

In an interview revealed Monday by Italian newspaper La Stampa, Pope Francis acknowledged that Africans expertise homosexuality negatively from a cultural perspective.

Africans are a particular case: for them homosexuality is one thing unhealthy from a cultural perspective, they don’t tolerate it,” he stated when requested concerning the controversy that adopted the blessings for same-sex {couples}.

The Catholic Bishops' Convention of Nigeria introduced that Catholic church buildings within the nation wouldn’t carry out blessings for same-sex unions.
“To take action could be opposite to God's regulation, the teachings of the Church, the legal guidelines of our nation and the cultural sensitivities of our folks,” they stated in an announcement.
