Police in Lagos State have arrested one Olamilekan Morekeji for allegedly beating his ex-wife, Mary Ololuwa, and utilizing stones to inflict accidents on her over their kids's case.
The spokesperson of the command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the arrest to the Information Company of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday.
Hundeyin mentioned the sufferer reported a case of home violence to the Owode Onirin Police Division at about 3pm on Thursday.
He mentioned that the sufferer was dropped at the station by some sympathizers whereas she was bleeding from the injuries that the suspect allegedly inflicted on her face.
Based on the spokesperson, the sufferer advised the counter all the pieces that had occurred to her.
Based on Hundeyin, the sufferer mentioned that on Thursday round 2pm, whereas she was going to her store round Bako Property, Weighbridge Ajegunle, her ex-husband, Olamilekan Morekeji, stopped her and inquired about their kids.
“Her response made him indignant, which resulted in him beating her up and utilizing a big rock to hit her on the top and face, significantly injuring her.
“She additional said that it took the intervention of some Samaritans to rescue her to the station the place she was instantly taken to the hospital in Irawo.
“The suspect has been arrested and brought into custody. The sufferer was photographed and the stones used to inflict accidents on the sufferer had been recovered as proof,” he mentioned.
Hundeyin mentioned the case could be transferred to the command's Gender Unit for additional investigation.
