The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Apapa Command, stated it made 54 seizures in 2023 with a taxable worth of N22.8 billion.
The Customs Space Controller of the Command, Comptroller Babajide Jaiyeoba, stated this in a press release in Lagos on Friday.
The assertion was signed by CSC Abubakar Usman, Public Relations Officer of the command.
Jaiyeoba stated the seizures included banned items, international parboiled rice and vegetable oil.
“These seizures had been made because of illegal import/export ban lists, false declarations and the like.
“A abstract of the seizures consists of prohibited items akin to used garments, international parboiled rice, vegetable oil, tomato paste and others,” he stated.
Jaiyeoba warned smugglers and merchants to desist from any type of illegality, describing Apapa port as a no-go space for such acts.
